Jay SilvermanHi there. I'm Jay. Thanks for stopping by.

I'm an NYC-based media professional with years of experience working for some major television and film properties (Sesame Street, Nickelodeon, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Kino Lorber). I currently oversee content acquisitions and business development for both the NYXT cable channel at Manhattan Neighborhood Network, a nationally prominent community media non-profit, and batteryPOP, a popular children's streaming video platform.

My writing has appeared in McSweeney's Internet Tendency on two occasions, and I've edited multiple books for the consumer market. I graduated from the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater's improvisational comedy training program and completed an extensive training course in Jim Henson-style rod-and-mouth puppetry (because I'm basically a 4-year-old at heart).

I graduated summa cum laude with Honors in Culture and Communication Studies distinction from New York University in 2006. My interests include reading, politics, the arts, learning foreign languages, visiting museums, playing music, discovering new things, and desperately rooting for the New York Mets.

I'm deeply interested in projects pertaining to educational and children's media, and I'm always interested in any opportunity to develop, produce and distribute media that entertains, engages, educates, and makes the world just a little bit better (and maybe a little bit more fun, too).
If you've got something in the works, I'd love to hear about it. Feel free to reach out!
